1. My lost keys have returned. They were, not surprisingly, in the pocket of my bathrobe, where I must have put them Saturday *headdesk* I was sure I'd looked for them there, but (as Severus Snape would say), "Obviously not." Well, I've got them back, so yay. It was very cool to slap my new flash drive into the USB port on my work computer. W00t ( Read more... )

Why does your link for the story about the Kansas boy take me to my own friends page? *blinks*

It's nice to see these types of things you're doing for DD now, versus the calls you were getting just a few short months ago. It looks like the new school was definitely the right move for DD.

I love HIMYM! Did I miss an episode last week?

I think it was a rerun. Very funny but not new, except to me, as I just jumped on the HIMYM train a bit earlier this season.

HIMYM is a rerun tonight, of the premiere of Season Four. Which I guess is this season, correct? However, in awesome HIMYM news, Neil Patrick Harris is hosting Saturday Night Live this weekend. If SNL manages to make NPH not funny, then we'll know the show has completely jumped the tracks.

UM, yeah, I guess this is S4. Oooh NPH on SNL!! I can't imagine any way NPH wouldn't be funny (unless...well, Fred Armisen could manage to drag him down somehow :(

Question re point 3: Dunno what's going on exactly, but why did the word adoptive precede EVERY mention of parents there? I was under the impression that one becomes a parent in every manner but biologically once adoption is finalised. Am I missing something? Are they attempting to suggest something, because I can assure them that those biological 'rentals are easily as capable of foul-play.

ETA: I know you're the congregation to which I preach, but it annoys me in the article.

Yeah, I noticed that too :( Apparently the kid and several of his younger siblings lived with this family original as foster kids, then the foster parents adopted them and changed their names, or at least his name. The biological rents sound a bit dodgy as well; the bio-mom said (in a different article) something about, "I guess I was sort of maybe a bit not such a good mom"... At any rate, I feel for the kid, or young man, if he's still alive. I have no idea why any parents, bio or adoptive, would wait 10 years before mentioning that their kid was missing...

Why? Because they're bad parents. The End.
