Must be an epidemic or something

1. I'm starting to think there's something in the water, or some kind of negative aura involved...Since my mother died on January 15th, at least 4 other co-workers have lost a parent or parent-in-law...and three of those happened in the past 2 weeks. Today I signed 2 sympathy cards and spoke with one fellow whose mother-in-law died last weekend. So ( Read more... )

Thank goodness Chicken Little Kevin is gone. He was the new face for votefortheworst.com. I think it is cruel to put through someone who is obviously not on the same playing field, gets their hopes up too much.

Boo has episodic asthma triggered by sickness. He actually has done a lot better since they switched his allergy medication and doesn't get sick near as often. Maybe that's something to look at. *shrugs* Poor Maya, I know it sucks to be sick.

We had Maya tested for allergies about 18 months ago and she supposedly doesn't have any. BUT she's supposed to be taking FloVent or one of those daily inhaler things, and she doesn't because she hates the taste. So maybe she'd be sick less if she actually took the meds. *headdesk*

Boo doesn't do the nasal inhaler like he's supposed to but they put him on a daily oral dose of Singulair which has done wonders. He'd been on Claritin and other things but this one has really worked and the coughs and colds have been reduced a lot.

Well, if Maya keeps showing symptoms of allergies (that is without the lovely colored stuff that infection brings) maybe testing again wouldn't be such a bad idea. I was amazed at how much changes between Boo's yearly checkups at his allergist.

Is it a pill or a liquid? She's terrified of pills :( I know, she should know how to swallow them, she'll be 10 in August. But right now she doesn't know how.

Problems all around and not easy to solve. Not sure about Maya. I get sick frequently too, though that's largely attributed to other things.

Vault is pretty good, it's the only thing that actually makes me feel like I have energy.

Hermione love!

I just checked the label on Vault. The second listed ingredient is high-fructose corn syrup, aka liquid sugar. So you're on a sugar high.

Strange soda drinks with names like Vault, Jolt or Red Bull terrify me. Talk about Alfred Hitchcock movies, you know he would would make a movie about one of these strange laboratory concoctions. I'm crazy enough as it is without an extra dollop of caffeine. Hee.

Is that the Were-Rabbit in your icon?? ;)

Vault's second biggest ingredient, after water, is high-fructose corn syrup. Caffeine, it turns out, is second to last on the ingredient list. So that's really a SUGAR BUZZ...

Damien only tested positive for allergies to cats. Well, that is all fine and good but he gets these seasonal allergies that have nothing to do with cats since our cats aren't seasonal. *sigh* But around here, there is so much stuff blooming all the time who can even tell what it might be.

He did go to school today. He's been on Zyrtec all week and I've been putting eye drops in his eyes for the itchiness. Good thing he's a good pill taker. He'll even take like a Advil Liqui-gel and his other daily pill at the same time and not bat an eyelash. I don't remember how we started him on pills. Probably something very small like a Benadryl.

I never try any of those energy drinks. Not because of the caffeine but because of the sugar. I'm always afraid I'll max out on sugar and pass out.
