A Thank You from Pope Francis!
Back in January I sent a copy of my novel, Abaddon, to Pope Francis. It was more of a gesture to say "Thank you" because he inspired some of the main character's thoughts and one of the introduction pages has a quote from him in it. I received a thank you letter on his behalf from the Vatican and I have to say... it's very bad-ass!

Writing about writing
I was thinking of expanding my Abaddon world a bit, namely writing about some of the key players who shaped the Binah culture in the book, namely the Hebrew slave, Ganya, and the Native American woman, known only as Tikvah in the memory of Abaddon himself. That time of year!
The first week of NaNoWriMo has passed and I got an impressive start considering this was how the first week went:- November 1: Class 8-4, drive to San Diego
- November 2: San Diego Zoo
- November 3: San Diego Zoo, drive to Yuma, AZ
- November 4: Drive from Yuma to Phoenix, fly to Ohio, drive an hour home
- November 5: Laundry all day, back to work

Almost NaNo time!!!
So ready to begin NaNo. Sure, I won't get a proper start on it until probably day #4 due to travels....but I've managed it while traveling before! I'm totally a "planner" this year, so I have a decent outline and dialogue ideas started. I have the co-power!!
I'm officially a co-Municipal Liason for the Black Swamp Region of Ohio for NaNoWriMo!
Now to do NaNo, grad school, work, and give the appearance that I can keep it all together :-P
I should probably start outlining since I need to get 50K ready to roll and will spend the first 4 days of November traveling or being at the San Diego Zoo!

What I've been doing...
- Writing. A lot of it. I have most of Breaking Waves: Rescued and Breaking Waves: Storm Fronts drafted out
- I won Camp NaNoWriMo for July 2013, another victory secured and 60K+ added to my manuscript.
- Realized my characters are messed up and do stuff I never expected them to do.
- I bought a new camera
- I went to the Cincinnati Zoo with said new camera, ( Read more... )
