I kicked ass at NaNoWriMo this year!
I hit 50K on November 24th and considering how busy my November was, that's no small feat! I wrote my NaNo file through 10 states, four time zones, all while being my region's ML for my area!
I managed 80003 words and wrote about 17000 of those in the last two days during my all-day writing sessions at the library. I was determined to make the last day a 10K day and wrote until I felt as if my fingers would fall off!
I had originally intended to do the re-write to Why are YOU Still Single? but ended up focusing more on Abaddon as the month went by. I love that story and am working on Round 1 of edits. There's a LOT of holes to fill in. I've been letting the kids at work read part of it and they're excited about it! It's a MAJOR departure from anything I've ever written. It's clearly Judeo-Christian fiction with a strong female lead who gets by on her wits and faith.
When I told my family what I was writing they were like "I don't know what's scarier... you writing that, or the fact that the person who scared Rob Zombie may have found a niche in Christian teen literature!"
Thanks :-/
Being ML for my area was a BLAST! We're hoping to get together twice a month outside of NaNo for the next steps of the process and hope that next year we can get more people involved now that there IS a NaNo presence in Lima and it is ACTIVE! My region overall was very active... we had four libraries on board across the region (and even a little outside of it, but more the merrier!) and something going on almost every day except Thanksgiving. We had two official MLs and one unofficial one, plus our amazing library hosts. I hope to carry this momentum on next year!
BTW...
This is why I feel awesome right now...
