Not a ghost
Annual post to affirm that I am still alive, still in Stoke, have fully beaten cancer but find it a daily battle not to beat my child, in a moderately stable relationship and smarming my way up a very greasy career ladder, no longer look anything like my userpic. Really miss LJ and everyone here. Hope you're all good! -

Does anyone use this lj app for iPhone?
1. How do you post pictures? My little camera icon is greyed out.
2. How do you read communities? I can only see the ones I've got friended and I'm not adding them all, I'd never keep up. How do I get to the ones in just a member of?
3. Why are there no sodding instructions? I need instructing.

My best friend's got no bumhole
She went home yesterday and the ward is SO quiet. She's a proper loudmouth. She was great though. She's 54 and used to be a nurse, and so when they told her she had cancer of the anus, and the extent of her tumour, she knew exactly what was going to happen. She told me she wished she'd been a plumber instead.

If you can believe it, I'm still in Christie's. I was sent home a week last Monday but it turned out to be a bit of a false start. Within four days I was brought back in with a nasty infection ( Read more... ) -
One year older, one part missing
I am getting much, much better now. I'm eating more and sleeping better, starting to get a real handle on the situation now. I've still got drains shooting out from all around my middle but my consultant is back in on Wed and I'm hoping he'll give the word to take them out and start training the new bladder. Things are starting to pick up but so. so. slowly. Every small achievement I think I've turned a corner, then I have the nights I've been having and I think I'm nowhere near. I'm definitely alert now and out of the anaesthesia + morphine fog. Visitors cheer me up. How could you be down with this bunch parading about for you:

Hi, I'm not really good for anything still. The op seems to have been a great success but I am wreck. I was in intensive care 3 days and it's taken until today to get me out of bed and into a chair, but that took two people ages. Just got no strength and in a lot of pain.
