Happy post-Independence Day to my fellow American flisters (hope y'all had fun and fabulous weekends) - and for everyone else, a Happy Sarah Palin Incoherent Rambling Quitter Day, because who doesn't love a good freak show anytime of the year? Now Sarah and Toddric get to *koff*relax*koff* (did she ever do any actual governing anyway?) and "slay

You're talking about Warehouse 13, right? Yeah, I think I read that too, but I dunno, I'm still looking forward to it. I just want it to be fun, and if it's fun, I'll be happy. Fingers and toes crossed with you. :)

Glad you started it and are ejoying it. I must get hold of a copy.
Not having a TV here on Guernsey, nor any desire to watch even if I did, the worlds of Sarah Palin and Michael Jackson are largely passing me by. I did read that she had resigned but that was about the extent of my info. Slayin salmon is a good one and methinks it will be used much over my summer. :) What wonderful amunition.
I saw some headlines about MJ and I pity you guys. Wall to wall horror coverage. Time to set fire to the tv methnks. My commisserations.

I think you'll like it. It's one of those tales that's told entirely through letters from character to character. Sometimes that style doesn't work for me, but it works well here - at least, so far. :)

You could have watched her entire resignation live, and it would still have passed you by. I swear the woman is retarded - literally, mentally-challenged.

It's disgusting, really. But his big live memorial service - yeah, really, live on several channels (kill me now) - was today, so maybe, hopefully, we will start to see the MJ talk dwindling hereafter. Until next year, of course, upon the anniversary of his death, and every year after that for all eternity. *groan*

I'm sure it'll hit dvd soon enough. The Maternal Unit thought it was very familiar, and I think you'll probably appreciate it too. ;)
Sounds like you've got a lot to read too.
Finally picked up Angels and Demons for a buck at the book trade store. Guess I will be reading that soon as well.
Let me know how you like that one. I've only read Brown's Da Vinci Code, which I thought was a decent quickie summer-type read, if you didn't take it seriously at all. ;) A&D is the prequel, and I've debated picking it up several times. If I see it real cheap, maybe I will eventually. But it's not like I'm bereft of reading material right now, or anytime in the near future. *eek*
'Slayed salmon and turkey burgers'. I have to admit, love the salmon but draw the line at turkey burgers. We've become huge fans of the ground turkey substitute in a lot of dishes. When we grill turkey burgers, we always grill a few hamburgers too so folks have a ( ... )

Sounds like everyone had a fun Fourth, and that's cool!
Like Vala I watched the first four episodes of 'Ture Blood' this weekend. Maybe I over-dosed on it, but I found the show interesting but not as intriguing as I'd hoped.I could not get into the first season, though I tried a few times. I just don't really like most of the characters, and the book was simply deadly boring, IMO. But I gave the second season a try since they seem to be moving away from the books - at least, that's what I read, but I wouldn't know since I didn't read any further past the first book. I think the addition of Michelle Forbes' character is reeling me in, as well as a couple of the story lines I'm finding more interesting than last year's book-plot. Oddly enough, or maybe not, I can't stand Sookie or Tara, and I don't usually like watching shows when I don't like any of the female leads. Bill and Jason drive me batshit too, though I like Jason's story line better this year, even though I ( ... )
