Ace at the Dog Park

It was cold and rainy Saturday, and a park which is rated for eighty large dogs had... five, of whom three were Ace and his cousins. The other two dogs were with a pair of uncommunicative, almost furtive, young women who had named their dogs Georgia and Peaches. The dogs were not a couple, but one wonders... They do! They are!

Riley has Misty (Mysti?) to socialize with, but Ace has no one and he deeeeeearly loves canine company.

His former daddy claimed Ace didn't care for the company of other dogs. Either it's an outright lie, or his former daddy was stupider than I think (and given Ace's untreated, and now untreatable, medical issues, I think him very stupid indeed).

So wonderful to see Ace out so obviously enjoying himself. And I am glad all your photos come with an explanation about his tumor. Otherwise, some of us might think Ace was unusually well endowed!

Well, I blush to say it, but yes, many people at the dog park do think that, and I believe even some of the dogs do.

At least, they seem astonished and curious, and then they sniff his tummy. The dogs, that is. Not the people.

Poor Ace, honestly. That damn thing is so uncomfortable for him because it keeps stretching the skin. We have balm for it, but he doesn't like the smell of that, and really, how much good can it do? Except to ease the itching, I hope.
