Loved your fic. While the running and laughing was always an important part of the Doctor/Rose relationship on the show, your fic shows another aspect, it was a relationship between two people who were not completely secure about themselves. Any version of the Doctor has a huge ego but there is something inherently shy about him when he is with Rose (you know, when he isn't shoving her into a parallel world). Your fic does a great job of letting the man within the alien come out...if that makes sense. *shrug* Side note: the Roger Rabbit nickname gave me the giggles.

*beams* Hee, thank you! Yes, the Doctor has always been a bit shy with her, and I just got the feeling from the end of Journey's End that TenII was even more shy than the original. He and Rose certainly have a lot of hurdles to get over before they can have anything close to resembling a healthy relationship. Thanks for reviewing! I really appreciate it! And yes, that "letting the man within the alien come out" does make sense.

P.S. The Roger Rabbit bit got added in at about two in the morning one night when I couldn't sleep. I was a little off-my-rocker which is always good for writing something amusing.

Personally, I don't see how the doctor could be happy knowing how and when River dies. It's one thing to fear for a beloved's death while hoping for the best, and another to know for sure that the woman you love is going to die soon (and if the doctor meets RS while she is played by Alex Kingston, that means he won't know her for a long time before she dies).

Now, if Romana came back, he wouldn't have to live in fear of losing her.

About the name... I think it's linked to something terrible. So terrible that it's forbidden to even mention it. Considering that all the Time Lords use alias, there's a use for their real names, and knowing them, it's not to get a membership card of "I own a Tardis club".

You know, I honestly hadn't considered that when I wrote this (not really being able to be happy since he knows she's going to die), but I would have to say that I would agree with everything you said here.

I would love it if Romana came back, she has to be my favorite companion from the Old Who. Here's to hoping!

When I rewatched those episodes I got the feeling that it would be something terrible as well. Again, I have to say I agree with you on every point you make.

YOu know as one of these self respecting fan girls you've made it very hard to dislike River right now. lol. Great story especially coming from Ten II's point of view.

Roger Rabbit, God I nearly split my sides laughing at that.

Thank you very much. And sorry for making it hard to hate River... like I said, as a companion, she would be good, as a love interest, I'm rather cross at Moffat.

Ah, the Roger Rabbit nickname... I may have been on something when I came up with that... I think it's called lack of sleep. Glad you appreciated the joke. :)

Yeah I think she will be interesting too and I don't really hate her. Her character is strong and I think she would be a great companion for the Doctor... just as long as it wasn't Ten lol. Now that Rose is happy with her Doctor I think I could accept River with another Doctor now he has regenerated. Guess I'll have to wait and see. I hope we don't have to wait too long to see the new series here in AUstralia.

The ABC finally showed End of Time Part one last Sunday night and the final part ison tonight. I've already seen them thanks to wonderful lj members and I'm trying to convince myself that I'm not going to watch it. I'm not, really cause I know I'll cry all over again.

Those are my feelings exactly, as long as Ten is left alone, Moffat can do whatever he wants. I'm in the US right now and I currently don't get BBCAmerica so I won't be able to see it until it comes out on DVD... or if I manage to find it on the internet....

I saw it on the internet the day it came out, then it aired on BBCAmerica and I invaded a friend's house to watch it again... I don't know why I did that because my friend and I were in tears for about an hour afterwards. My advice... watch the first half-hour but then stop.
