On the Subject of Hurricane Katrina

I have no words... because a picture is worth a thousand I'll shut up. But coming soon is my thesis is on why New Orleans was left to rot. (Hint it has something to do with it being a welfare state and 70% black).

I want to assure you that my roommate from New Orleans has found that her family is alive and safe.

I think Kanye West was being an idiot when he said George Bush doesn't care about black people, but George Bush certainly doesn't care about poor people.

What's that comic strip called? I remember it. It's hilarious.
Glad the ziti drama is over :p

It's called boondocks, and yes Aarron McGruder is an excellent cartoonist (it's supposed to be in the works as an adult swim series starting in october, but im gonna stop talking about comics now before i look even dorkier)... and I like that kanye west said what he said. It's better than Celion Dion's bullshit crying on the news and all that shit. goddamn.

Actually watch the clip on "Horror Show" first and then maybe you won't write off Kanye as being some rapper prick that has no idea what he's talking about. The solution is obvious: help the people who need it... the problem is the government doesn't want to help these people. There are people being killed in that dome. People being rapped. No one will let them off. They live in fecies ( ... )

The man has a point. Do something. I'm not sitting idle, I'm letting people know what's going on and collecting money and food and donating the same... at the same time... it just makes my eye twitch when people try to downplay the situation or discredit the feelings those who are dissatisfied with the institution’s "response."

It would be nice if it weren't a black/white issue or a rich/poor issue, but it is. And there's no way around that.
