I have no words... because a picture is worth a thousand I'll shut up. But coming soon is my thesis is on why New Orleans was left to rot. (Hint it has something to do with it being a welfare state and 70% black).

I want to assure you that my roommate from New Orleans has found that her family is alive and safe.

Bush doesn't care about black people. Period.

In 2004 Bush met with the NRA before he met with the NAACP. He's given the okay for victims to be shot and killed by armed guards. If this was Beverly Hills it wouldn't be this way, if this were Hollywood he wouldn't have turned away truck loads of water, deisel fuel, and aid. He's put thousands of loving families, displaced criminals, and gang members in a huge building and then turned out the lights. Is that planning? Is that care? No, it's rape. It's murder. It's wrong.

He doesn't care. And as long as people continue to believe that all the problems of New Orleans stem from its people and not the administration then they will remain in the dark as well.

Because he's taking a stand. The only people who have power in the black community are rappers and actors. Music and entertainment is the new cotton. Someone had to say something, certainly no one will listen to our politicians because we don't have any.

So yes, if you ask a black person on the street, "Does your president care about you?" They will probably think, "What president?"

Actually watch the clip on "Horror Show" first and then maybe you won't write off Kanye as being some rapper prick that has no idea what he's talking about. The solution is obvious: help the people who need it... the problem is the government doesn't want to help these people. There are people being killed in that dome. People being rapped. No one will let them off. They live in fecies.
Children are dying. Children are dying. Children are dying. Children are dying.
Old people are dying.
Young people are dying.
Black people are dying.
They're crying out for someone to help them and no one will. No one. And when they do help it's not enough and it's too little to late.
Children are dying.
People were told to go to this place to be safe and were in more danger there. People were told that they should go in to find help and were LOCKED INSIDE. It's a concentration camp. It's an internment camp. It's a slave ship.

Black people want to know why. So if you think that his comment is idiotic, it's because it's not close enough to home for you.

So i just watched both of those videos, and it was great how these people were really telling the truth. both the reporters were genuinely emotionally involved in what they were saying, unlike that prick ass guy on MSNBC who's always pretend to act like something is "truly touching"....you only say shit like that when it's not the truth. and these music things always make me angry because you can tell they're scripted, and even if they care it comes off sounding phony. You know Kanye was speaking what he felt because he was shaking and because of the horrified expression on mike myers' face, i'm sure he was thinking "oh no, he's not reading from the teleprompter! what do i do!!" the only other person that seemed genuine was ellen degeneres on one of those other shows, b/c her family is in new orleans and she grew up there. i know republicans in general don't care about poor people, but i can't really tell if nothing happened because these people were poor and also predominately black, or just because they were poor. The only way to tell would be to see what happened in a similar situation with a bunch of poor white people. I don't know. But good for Kanye speaking his mind. and that look on mike myers' face was priceless.

I mean, it doesn't hit close to home to me, but i certainly think it was justified and definitely truthful.

I think Summer is just too cynical to think that he was saying those things for the right reasons. People want to believe that comments are made like that to sell records and stir up controversy, its easier than accepting that maybe his opinion is valid. Shit, Members of the Bush Administration walked out of the World Racism conference in South Africa years ago. He doesn't care about black people. period.

Well I don't know what the deal is with people that can't see this is an issue of race and class. Bush doesn't give flying fuck. It's good that a white person will acknowledge that. You're the first one I've come across.
