I always liked the idea of the Invictus not as a tool to power, but as a tool for keeping your humanity. That's always had more appeal for me than the political aspects of the Invictus. I had an idea for a Gangrel duelist who refused to use Protean, because it was so tied to the Beast. But then I've always sucked as a combat-monkey.

Generally, that is what it is. Beneath all of the pomp and circumstance - it's about Control.

No bigger control than control over your own beast.

How futile.
