i've lost 8lbs in the last month or so. probably because of the Topomax, probably because i cut out caffeine and pop, probably because i drink 3 or 4 bottles of water a day

I would tell her you're glad she's getting help. Tell her how much she means to you. Tell her how much it's helped the people you know. Make sure she understands that it doesn't mean that she's somehow ruined. They're trying to put her back together. Everyone needs that sometimes.
Sometimes I wonder if it would have been better if I had been in hospital rather than a hikkikomori. I don't know.

she was angry at first, but now she is glad, and wishes she had gone there sooner... she has every reason in the world to have broken down. if it had been me, i know i couldn't have dealt with it as long as she has.
I'd sure as hell wouldn't make her feel like she 'joined the club', but make her feel wanted and loved. If she feels worthless it sounds like that's what she really needs, and if she's your friend and you worry about her it shouldn't be a problem ;)

i talked to her today on the phone. she said i was the only one that understood what she was going through, and i told her i wasn't ashamed of her. she sounded like herself again. i think she's going to be okay.
i'm sorry that i haven't been writing you back. i meant to send you a donation for your marathon and just never got around to it. *snuggle* i am teh suck.
