The person having the greatest Number of votes for President, shall be the President, if such number be a majority of the whole number of Electors appointed; and if no person have such majority, then from the persons having the highest numbers not exceeding three on the list of those voted for as President, the House of Representatives shall choose immediately, by ballot, the President. But in choosing the President, the votes shall be taken by states, the representation from each state having one vote; a quorum for this purpose shall consist of a member or members from two-thirds of the states, and a majority of all the states shall be necessary to a choice ( ... )

How the Republican Congress could pick the next US PresidentThis is nonsense. The reason Bloomberg didn't run as a 3rd party because he was afraid he'd help Trump win, because Bloomberg is actually a moderate and would steal some votes from Clinton. None of the possible RNC picks are remotely moderates, they'd take votes away from Trump, but the end rusult would be the same. Trying this would also be a huge risk, since at least some Republican voters would be turned off by the party turning against its candidate and since most Republicans tend to vote a straight ticket, this risks losing the Senate (which is likely anyway, but not to the level that it might) and if it backfired badly enough, the House (which would otherwise be entirely safe). In short, this is impressively foolish to the degree that I'm fairly certain the RNC would avoid it ( ... )
