How the Republican Congress could pick the next US President

This is nonsense. The reason Bloomberg didn't run as a 3rd party because he was afraid he'd help Trump win, because Bloomberg is actually a moderate and would steal some votes from Clinton. None of the possible RNC picks are remotely moderates, they'd take votes away from Trump, but the end rusult would be the same. Trying this would also be a huge risk, since at least some Republican voters would be turned off by the party turning against its candidate and since most Republicans tend to vote a straight ticket, this risks losing the Senate (which is likely anyway, but not to the level that it might) and if it backfired badly enough, the House (which would otherwise be entirely safe). In short, this is impressively foolish to the degree that I'm fairly certain the RNC would avoid it.

OTOH, it's unclear if Trump will actually get enough votes and even if he dies, I expect some sort of plan to stop him by monkeying with the rules - unless he threatens to run as a 3rd party candidate, which not only insures as Democratic victory, but again risks large-scale Senate and House loses.
