That piece about problems in Social Justice is a step in the right direction, but I think it's missing that abuse is baked into Social Justice ideology-- there's the idea that some people's anger doesn't need any brakes and other people are morally obligated to suck up that anger. Even if you make it that some parts of people's identities are entitled to dump unlimited rage and other parts are obligated to endure it, this doesn't make a significant difference ( ... )

"Try combining..."

Ha. That is indeed a very good point. Of course the entire ethos of social justice spaces is "You were brought up inside this unfair system and thus of course everything we do or say here will look crazy." And that's very fair up to a point, and increasingly harmful beyond that...

I tried working out when the odometer was changing in each place in the world as the year clicked over from 1999 to 2000, but was stymied by lack of worldwide information on DST. But web data has improved since then, and this site has a page that covers that. Assuming that it's accurate and up to date, of course.

Very interesting links, all of them. The myostatin article is a nice positive thing to start the year with.

That pig is awesome.

Ticket less train idea is pants. I need paper for expenses if i use a train and what about families like you said or the older person discounts. Just nuts.

The train ticket article is really just a plan to have a plan which might mean paper tickets could be phased out.

Like cheques.

Absolutely. And if they can cover all of the various ways that tickets are bought/used then I will be impressed. It's plausible, but it will be a darn sight more complex than that article makes out.

(Whereas cheques are generally used to get money from bank account A to bank account B, which is pretty trivial to do via Technology)
