That piece about problems in Social Justice is a step in the right direction, but I think it's missing that abuse is baked into Social Justice ideology-- there's the idea that some people's anger doesn't need any brakes and other people are morally obligated to suck up that anger. Even if you make it that some parts of people's identities are entitled to dump unlimited rage and other parts are obligated to endure it, this doesn't make a significant difference.

There are a good many people who identify with Social Justice who don't behave that badly, but I believe this is because their emotional health and/or kindness leads them to not make use of the opportunities for abuse in the ideology-- and such people are frequently enforcers for the abusive people.

I believe there's a good bit of truth in Social Justice, but the methods are appalling, and just telling people to behave differently is not enough. There needs to be an ideological change, and I'm not sure what it would look like. Also, it would be a very hard fight.

Try combining the Social Justice link with the messed up practices link.

"Try combining..."

Ha. That is indeed a very good point. Of course the entire ethos of social justice spaces is "You were brought up inside this unfair system and thus of course everything we do or say here will look crazy." And that's very fair up to a point, and increasingly harmful beyond that...
