Is it? Yes, it's yet another Poll!

So, let's say that there were to be e-books (for an ish definition of books) of about 40,000 words, which breaks down to around five to eight stories depending on the length of the stories included, how should I chose the stories? If I have enough stories in a specific mythos, that's an easy group, but I have a lot of stories that stand ( Read more... )

I can't imagine a single organizing principle which would be universal.
One collection might be genre-specific; another might want to show chronological development; another might be locale, or mood, or your favorite color; another might be things requested specificly for other peoples' anthologies (I don't know if you have some, but I know it happens).
etc.

Story chronology (versus publication date chronology where it varies from the story one), if you please. Unless the stories aren't linked by story. In that case, could the description / blurb / intro / framing material specify which organizational paradigm was used?

I read ebooks on a Mac laptop, which means that autorun.exe functions that organize individual stories & books are so much bypassed deadwood for me, and I have to suss out my own order with only a few aids from the publisher.

Completely unrelated to anything in this thread.

I was in London last week for work.

As I stepped onto the bus and waved my Oyster card at the yellow spot on the wall, I happened to glance to my right to see a 20-something-ish lady, sitting in the front seat, her nose in a book.

While reading on public transport in the UK isn't at all unusual, seeing her engrossed within the first third of Blood Price definitely was... :)

And I thought of you, obviously. :)

Would you put your new Valor story here for free if we promise to buy an official copy when it comes out?
