Those of you who've had a better internet connection than I have over the last few days (oh look, it's snowing...again) may have noticed that I won't be going to Megacon after all.  The media group I was going to go down with decided not to go so, as a part of that group, I won't be going either.

Some of you are probably thinking:  "Megacon?  Did ( Read more... )

MegaCon is a convention held down in Orange County florida in the Orange County Convention center. http://www.megaconvention.com/ is the website.

Tanya- I'm sad to hear you're not going BUT at the same time it makes me feel like I'm not missing much after all.

Well, there's still Dylan and Kyle... We can miss them together, okay?

Oh, most definantly will be missing them with you. If only I had the cash I'd be down there in a half a heartbeat. Though I guess, I'll just have to appease myself with the 20 episodes I have sitting on I-Tunes. But I have to run as I am sitting here trying to laugh a few extra pounds off watching Christina's new movie its quite cute but its not the same. ;)

I don't believe you have ever been to Dragoncon, I know there would be a bunch of fans who would love to meet you. If you ever made it down there.

Where is Dragoncon? Is it somewhere warm? What's the one in Atlanta?

See, here's the thing about cons... because they're part of my job, I don't tend to go unless I've been invited as a guest. Worldcon's pretty much the only exception. If Dragoncon wanted to invite me as a guest, I'd be happy to attend.

I'm feeling severe vicarious disappointment for you.

Florida weather in March? Dylan? Kyle? And you'll miss all that? Dang.

I finally admitted today that the medical bills for my worn-out left knee make it impractical to go to Minicon. I'll still go to FilkONtario, though; it's significantly cheaper since I won't have to fly.

This was *totally* not meant as a guilt-trip whiny bit -- I am planning to visit with some friends, one of whom I haven't seen in years, so the trip and con aren't a total loss. Oh, and I *do* still plan to drool over the lovely and talented Messieurs Neal and Schmid (but not actually *look* like I'm drooling) while I'm there.

I get it, really. I've had the same reaction. *g*

Good luck with the not looking like you're drooling though, I've been up close to both of them and it's hard!

Ms. Huff, have you ever considered or been to Dragoncon? (www.dragonncon.org)

I was thinkin of creating a programming track for it, and trying to get not just you but also cast members. I was wondering if that plus the online petitioning could assist in getting Blood Ties secured for a third season?

As far as it helping with another season, I doubt it. As a general rule, networks don't really follow any fan experience that isn't right in front of them and unavoidable. So, things actually being sent to them, they can't help but notice. Conventions, not so much.
