Will take public transport for booze
In a bid to save money for drinks at Butter tonight, I am not cabbing but taking a train. I figure money I don't spend on the cab means money for booze. Am I economically rational or what?!

The daughter, the sister, the mother
On the way to Phnom Penh from Siem Reap today, we went by a fatal road accident. A woman was pinned under a truck. I can't be sure but I think her head was crushed by the truck tyre. Her body lay limp on the road; head still trapped under the wheel. There was a lot of blood.

Only in China
We're in Shangrila. Today, we took a bus to Bai Shui Tai (white water terraces). On the way back, the bus driver stopped the bus in the middle of the mountains, hopped off with his pack of cigarettes and headed for the trees to take a dump. WTF??!! J and I were the only bewildered passengers on board so I figure this must be a regular occurence ( Read more... ) -
Technology in Tibet
Last Saturday, we left Nepal for Tibet. Since then, we've not had Internet access because free Internet in Tibet is a rare commodity. Today, we found a cafe in Lhasa offering free wifi. We have been sitting here the past 2 hours, completely ignoring each other and tapping away at our iPhone and blackberry.
Technology feels so good!

Build me a house by the beach
With all the choice beach destinations available in Southeast Asia, Vietnam is hardly the first country that comes to mind when one plans a beach holiday.
