Build me a house by the beach

Aug 17, 2010 02:20

With all the choice beach destinations available in Southeast Asia, Vietnam is hardly the first country that comes to mind when one plans a beach holiday.

That's what i thought, till i discovered Cua Dai.

4 km away from Hoi An's Old Town, Cua Dai beach is a vast expanse of clear waters and bright blue skies. The glistening sand is fine and perfect for a relaxing stroll on the beach or lying under the sun for a tan.

Unlike the more popular beaches in Nha Trang, Cua Dai is considerably less crowded, more peaceful and also a whole lot cleaner! J and i were quite lucky to have discovered this beach by chance. We arrived at Hoi An too early in the morning for our hotel to check us in so we rented a bike to scoot around town. Old Town isn't too big so we decided to venture further. That's how we found ourselves at Cua Dai. We liked it so much, we had to return the second day for a proper beach outing.

Day two, we stayed till the sun set.

i sure could live like this.
