OK It's closure.. you can move on in fact deal with that 1st before the other emotions that happens but this is a call to a jounrey you are no longer with this company you HAVE to choose which company or your self endevour you will do.

Good luck... may the force be with you.

as I alluded to earlier, I'll soon be trying to break into the entertainment indstry ... at least the production end of it. Making things happen, IOW.

Yes, it's closure, that's pretty much it.

Yes, I like VAST -- no albums, but the few of their songs I've heard, I really like. I also like VNV nation and ... well, lots of other things.

thanks for the well-wishes.

at minimum you should be able to put "terminated for supposed theft" or something like that; you did not use their accounting system properly, right?

this is something I've been wondering -- what should I put down as the "reason for leaving?" And how can I justify leaving when I maintain that this was the best company I've ever worked for?

and that was essentially it -- I didn't use the accounting system properly.

Keep it simple. Just use 'terminated' and leave off the rest. When a prospective employer asks for details of the termination, give them a politely neutral, two- or three-sentence summary. Be honest but be brief, just something like, 'They had two separate systems for employees to log into and out of each day. There were occasions where I logged out of one system but forgot to log out of the other. Although it was an honest mistake, the company chose to end my employment with them.'

There was a good column about this sort of thing in my paper a week or two ago, will see if I can find it and send you a link. It stuck in my head because I'm needing to come up with something similar for my own need-to-get-started-on-it job search.

That's very nicely worded!

I still think you should talk to a lawyer.

I sort of agree, but where am I going to find a lawyer in Austin to do any work when I can't even come up with a half decent retainer fee?

Maybe I'm secondguessing things too much, but still.

There are lots of lawyers who work for free if they think they can win. It may be worth talking to one of them.

Have you any idea on how to find one of these? I have not needed a lawyer heretofore, so am unsure of where to start (aside from google/phone book search).
