I sort of agree, but where am I going to find a lawyer in Austin to do any work when I can't even come up with a half decent retainer fee?

Maybe I'm secondguessing things too much, but still.

There are lots of lawyers who work for free if they think they can win. It may be worth talking to one of them.

Have you any idea on how to find one of these? I have not needed a lawyer heretofore, so am unsure of where to start (aside from google/phone book search).

You can call and see if they charge for an initial consultation.

My niece used these guys:

When they deemed she had a case they moved her to a lawyer better suited for her needs. They've even flown her back from Miami and she's paid nothing. The costs will come out of any money she might make.
