Success, failure, everything in between.

Of the awesome:

1. Someone randomly managed to find their way to my wishlist (I'm actually not sure how, I wonder if I should worry *paranoid*) and just got me a gift. Randomly. It was just a foxtrot comic book, but it's a gift and it's funny and it was completely unexpected. So thank you random person!

More under the cut )

moving, awesome

*wince* Current rental has the fridge, the microwave, and The Entire Second Floor on one circuit. So if my housemate decides to blow-dry her hair while I'm trying to heat up some soup...well.

Youch. Yeah, my big issue though is that their major selling (like, actual selling, I bought the place, so a bit more annoyance considering how much I've already spent *G*) point was REMODELING the entire place, it was a ground up deal. And yet there's a few details where it feels like someone was just stupid in their planning. Honestly, electric kettle + microwave = popped circuit. And I think I only have two breakers for the whole kitchen.

*headdesks repeatedly about the electrical* Even HERE, the dumbass who remodeled the house put the dishwasher and microwave (and the DRYER) on their own separate circuits!!

That was the ONE really good thing about my last place, every appliance had its own circuit etc. AND I could use my plugged in microwave and the electric kettle at the same time. Geez, what wattage did they GET me? I have a bad feeling the stove is on the same breaker as well, but that at least only needs a small amount of electricity. I hope this is an easy fix and not a "live with it or tear up the walls" fix.

Man, this is really random, but it has been so comforting to read all your stuff about moving - I'm moving myself in about a week and a half, and because it's all pretty last-minute, I've barely done anything. But you are making me feel like I can do it! It won't be too scary! Just take deep breaths, and it'll be OK!

So - yes. Thanks.

Hee, you're welcome! Just take tiny little steps! And make lists. And excel spreadsheets. And get a small portable accordian folder for all the paperwork and notes.

And breathe. If you don't breathe you pass out. Passing out is bad.

Wait, whut? Delivery dude called you at nine effing thirty PM? That's totally insane. *flails* Business day ended HOURS ago, nimwit!

I know. I mean, the delivery time they gave me was 3 - 8. Which okay, if I was in a private house would be annoying but livable. But I totally gave them delivery restrictions when I paid them *mummlty mummble* dollars. And those restrictions were "Business hours". So yes, v. annoyed.

On the bright side, today I finally got my couch! I am a couch owner!

First I just want to say that with all your problems and such, that I am still jealous as hell that you have your own place. We're moving into someone's condo in a month, so we have some of the luxuries of owning our place, but not all of it. And second - it's a good thing that you have so many friends and family to help you out, because imagine how much more nuts you'd be going if you didn't have them.

But YIKES on the crappy wiring and stupid couch guy. We run so many of our appliances at one time that we'd be seriously screwed if they were all on one breaker.

*resists going into how a Condo and a Co-Op are totally different animals* *G*

Don't I know it about the friends and family thing, I barely hung on as it is. There's more yet to do. *ignores list* But first, INTERNET. SO IMPORTANT.

As for the wiring, I THINK we should be able to simply split the lines up at the break box. Worst case, some of the outlets are in sequence (think cheap xmas lights) not in series, but we should at least be able to get the dishwasher off the microwave line. I'm hoping to separate some more outlets as well. I'm almost afraid to run the blow dryer and the TV at the same time *tired sigh*.

Hmmm, I did warn you I had been playing on your wishlist. Another piece should arrive today. It really is your fault that the quality of your writing attracts the odd random person ;-)

I know! But it was still a nice surprise! (And nothing today, probably tomorrow). It's just a nice feeling, b/c I haven't had the chance to write anything new in ages *really wants to change that sometime soon*. So thank you again!
