Success, failure, everything in between.

Of the awesome:

1. Someone randomly managed to find their way to my wishlist (I'm actually not sure how, I wonder if I should worry *paranoid*) and just got me a gift. Randomly. It was just a foxtrot comic book, but it's a gift and it's funny and it was completely unexpected. So thank you random person!

2. TJ Maxx. I forgot how awesome you are. The only problem is when you're actively hunting for say-- stuff to finish off your apartment, you really need to go once a week and see what's new. But that's okay, because sometimes you can find real gems. This week was a burnished bronze lamp that holds a tea candle and has pretty glass to reflect the light. Also found high end pillows and mattress pads for uber cheap. \o/ Now I can MAKE MY BED.

3. Bah.

4. Target was also a success. This week was limited to basic essentials. Like a toilet plunger. *g* Also spotted: over the door dish towel holder, sink matt (a really NICE one), dish patterns I like (that's for later, but it's nice to know the timing works out, probably by the time I'm ready to buy there will be a sale or a coupon or something), and granola bars. What? They're important! I also scoped out various storage ideas for me to think about as I continue to put things away and rearrange stuff.

5. Visiting guests totally got about 80% of the boxes unpacked. Visiting mom put most of my clothes away and from what I can tell, it almost seems logical.

Of the UNawesome:

1. Someone thought it was brilliant to put my dishwasher and my microwave on the same circuit. I haven't tested it yet, but considering the circuit popped when I was using the electric kettle at the same time, I suspect things will get more un-amusing later. Also, I think the outlet with the internal breaker (the kind you install near water) is on the same damn breaker. I.E. I need to futz around and see what's what and possibly call an electrician in and talk some stuff over because this just isn't cool.

2. So far no calls about the fridge part that needed ordering. Cannot set my own move in date without that. For I will not put more than my chinese food remnants in that thing without assurances it won't need to be hauled out of there and replaced.

3. Brand new shiny bedroom furniture is awesome, except the large piece seems to be wobbly. Now, considering the age of my building, that could totally not be the furniture's fault. But now I have to spend some quality time on the floor with cardboard getting it to stop being all wobbly and annoying.

Of the unknown awesome (yes, I have been watching Chuck, why do you ask?)

1. Couch theoretically being delivered tomorrow. Instead of last week. Where apparently several people in the telephone/email chain managed to miss the building restrictions and I had refused to try and wangle the super to stay late b/c I wanted to be there at least 6 months before I started pissing people off. Not that it would have mattered because the driver, who apparently never got the message that I demanded a new delivery date, called at 9:30pm (90 minutes past the original window and nearly 5 hours past the building restrictions) just then asking how to find me.

2. Still have to arrange cable. *eyes time warner warily*. This oughta be good.

3. Have several odd jobs that I'm just going to out source. Running a cable, rehanging a door. Etc.

4. Have to get my TV wall mounted. May wait till I have both TVs. Or till I make a decision about the one in the living room. This means I have to look at furniture again. And TVs.

5. Note to self: Ask how they want t he maintenance paid before it's too late, bad form to be late on that this early in the game. Ditto on the mortgage.

moving, awesome
