*hugs* I am of the opinion that school in terms of suckiness is 1) middle school or junior high. There is a reason those kids are isolated from older and younger students, and that's because they are assholes. Puberty has hit, they suddenly become vicious, selfish, horrible beasts. I don't know if I told you this, but the worst girl I remember from that age was named Lisa. I lived in a very stratified corner of society by Castle Pines--you know, that rich people's golf course? Back in the day, there were the kids from the sticks (me) and rich kids (Lisa) and she made my life HELL. I remember her and her little cronies following me around and asking why I had ugly legs and why I wouldn't shave them. (I wasn't allowed at that age.) She always had some way of making you feel bad about yourself. And she talked about sex constantly, about sitting on boy's faces. We were twelve at the time, but you wouldn't know it from the way she talked. Anyway, I looked her up online last year and she died several years ago. No husband, no kids, no cause

You're probably right. The worst year, hands-down, was my 7th grade year. That one pretty much sealed my reputation as a pariah, and especially in a small town, once you're labeled, that's it. You're stuck with it for as long as you're there. This one shitbag especially - I still remember his name, and his ugly moon-face - almost single-handedly turned the entire school against me. He's definitely one of the handful that I wouldn't spit on if he were on fire.
I think I remember you saying something about that girl who died. I'd say in a way, she got her comeuppance. I can't stand people who get their kicks from making other people feel bad. I can relate to the sex bit. I think it was the same year, 7th grade, but I got cornered by a bunch of the popular girls, and this one ringleader asked me if I was a virgin. I had NO clue about sex, at all, at that time, so of course I thought it was something bad that they were trying to pin on me, so I said no. Boy did they have a field day with that. >_That former friend of yours probably hated

School does suck. I'm so sorry you were treated like that by the rest of the students. I do believe that some of these school shooters were probably treated the same way and finally snapped. I'm glad you had the morality not to go that route. That kind of bullying does bring about clinical depression that can last the rest of your life. I'm glad they can't find you. You're safer that way. It's too bad that all of this is bringing up old memories and stirring up those bad feelings all over again. ::HUGS::
My 40th reunion is coming up in 2 years and I have no intention of going. The only one I ever went to was the 10 year reunion. It was boring since no one would talk to me. High school all over again.
Kleibold and Harris - the latter, especially - were said to have been relentlessly bullied during their time. A lot of people, experts included, have concurred that it was a key factor in their bloody rampage

You've done a lot of processing. *Hugs you gently.* My school memories have both good and bad for me but there was so much bad that overall I do not remember those times kindly and I worry a bit about what cellphones and the internet have done to make bullying not only easier but more invasive.
We live, all of us, in a strange times. Whether we know it or not.
I'm so glad you consider me a friend just as I consider you. You know, the offer I made before is open. I actively need to find a roommate anyways so I can afford to establish a new home and move out of my temporary residence at my parents. There are jobs here, Publix is here and in the Pooler Parkway area of Savannah there is one business after another going up. Just something to think on. (I'm roughly two hours from Florida, if that.)
