In case any of you missed it - Becoming Jane trailer. That film with Anne Hathaway and James McAvoy about Jane Austen. I think Anne Hathaway will do a fairly good job although I think someone else could do better - she's too young and unlike Jane Austen to I think really catch the nuances and depth. And  James McAvoy is much much younger than I ( Read more... )

I wish they would make a movie behind the tragic story of "It Is Well With My Soul". That is drama in my opinion.

The Austen movie sounds interesting, but not my cup of tea. (Because it looks too fictionalized...) Maybe I'll like it once I see it though. :p

I agree-another of my favorite hymns. :) And I'm kind of ambivalent about the Austen movie too-on the one hand I'll like it as romantic period piece but on the other hand I love and revere Jane Austen so much that it seems like travesty to have anyone so young playing her.

I just saw the trailer (finally!!!), and it's so exciting! It looks exactly like the P&P trailer, even with the same music. (Which is both good and bad, I think.) It's all so pretty!

I agree about Anne Hathaway - much as I like her, I think someone else would be better. Why not have an English actress? But I'm so happy that James McAvoy is in it - can't wait for that!

Romolai Garai and James McAvoy (and Keira Knightley) all in a movie? Yay! And look, Brenda Blethyn (aka Mrs Bennet) is in it too. ;)

I read somewhere that Kate Winslet and Keira Knightly were also considered for the role, but I don't think I'd like them more. I really like Anne Hathaway, I'm not sure about her playing Austen, but I do not think she looks like she isn't fitted for the role in the trailer.

Did any of you see the posters? They reminded me a lot of P&P3 too.
As someone above said, I'll probably like it as a period drama, but I'm not sure how much I like it that it's about Jane Austen and it will probably dissapoint if you keep that too much in mind. Overall I'm still excited :)

I agree about Anne Hathaway. She just doesn't seem like Jane to me. Maybe because I think of her as being too American. The others look very good.

Exactly. Too American is definitely what I thought.
