We might be lucky, because in the Netherlands we only have skunks in the zoo.
So I have no idea how they pong, though form stories I heard it must be something evil.
Hope you find a solution for your smelly problem soon and wish you loads of happy dreams (as weird as you like 'em)

IT IS A HORRIBLE SMELL. I WISH I COULD DESCRIBE IT FOR YOU. ROTTING AMMONIA?

THE THING IS, IT WAFTS, BUT IT DOESN'T DISSIPATE. THE STINK CAN JUST STAY FOR AGES.

I think there's a mixture you can make that involves two common household items, like peroxide and dish detergent, that's super-unstable (so can't be sold in stores) but REALLY effective. To the Googles!

oh, skunks - springtime in michigan means it's pretty skunkalicious everywhere you go b/c those things are, like, incapable of NOT getting hit by cars

Many years ago, when we were kids, my father was working late and my mother heard something moving around in the garage. She thought it might be a burglar, so she very quietly opened the door to look, and there was a skunk. She very quietly closed the door and went back to bed. XD

(No, it wasn't a great idea to open the door to see the burglar. But hey.)
