Number 4: Battle Royale

Yup, Battle Royale! In a way, this came alive because of the very famous The Hunger Games and I was pretty excited to tackle the world of Koushun Takami.

If you have no idea what Battle Royale is, go here: http://www.amazon.com/Battle-Royale-Novel-Koushun-Takami/dp/1421527723 at least you'll get more knowledge about it!

I suck because I haven't exactly read BR properly or watched the movies. I've always been curious about it but never really got around checking out the whole thing. =D Maybe it's high time I read/watch it!

---And I've watched Hunger Games and although I wasn't really crazy about the movie, it made me think of how awesome the book must be. I can only imagine how detailed Katniss' thoughts and emotions were expressed in the books, not to mention the situation in Panem both political and social. I've come across an article about FOOD being a vital element in HG---like when Peeta threw it for her (beginning of a deep bond), food linked to oppression and mutinies---etc. Those weren't really emphasized in the movie and I would love to see how things unfold in the book!

I'm looking forward to your coming entriesss! <3

Sempai, you have no idea how happy I am that you commented on this! IDK why, but it's a big deal for me coming from you...

anyway, knowing you, I think you'll enjoy reading both books! HG is so cool! I personally love the twisted rules of Panem that I would love to be part to fight the government! As for BR, well, it's amazing! It might give you emotional breakdowns (as I did) and even take sides! Seiously, sempai, do consider reading them!

Also, I do agree, that I wasn't so into the movie of HG but it was a good translation of the book! :D

Finally, thank you so much for taking time to read my entries! :D As I said, it means a lot to me that you're reading it! At least you'll get to know me better even though we didn't really have loads of Nami memories! :D Thanks again!

Due to the nature of my job, I've encountered the works of critics on how HG was not original and that the trilogy was rooted on a mesh of jumbled points taken from several other literature and I was like---the hell is wrong with these people? None of the books today are original, in a sense that everything can be connected to everything from the past: THAT'S THE DISADVANTAGE OF OUR GENERATION! She was able to take all these elements and create something completely original in itself. Besides, with the thousands of years before us, it could even be that she wasn't aware of the point those critics were making. Those articles made me want to read the HG trilogy even more ( ... )
