No, it's a fairly new word for someone who eats locally grown food in preference to food that is processed or shipped from far away.

"Locovore"? (I could see "logovore", but I'm not sure what a locovore would be - but then, my Greek really isn't the best... ^_~)

Nice poster, in any case, though! :) I'm sure it'd get more than its share of attention if you put it up in the library...

See above for definition. Actually, in this context I prefer "logovore" and I'll suggest that.

*nodnods* Ah, OK - thanks for the definition above. :) Yeah, "logovore" probably would be a better choice; "locovore" just doesn't seem to have much to do with the poster's topic.

"Locovore" is a local fad here. It's supposed to be "green" and maybe it is to some extent. I'm amused because so many people don't know how to cook, though. My boss subscribes to a local vegetable coop and receives a box of locally grown produce once a week. It's delivered to the library, and everyone stands around and says "What's that, what's that?" I'm usually the only one who knows what all of them are and how to prepare them.

Locovore? No such word exists in the Oxford English Dictionary...

Correction: The Oxford American Dictionary, but still.

Locomotives are too highly processed. You should eat the coal instead. ;p

It's hard on the books, though. We already had a lot of them with tooth marks.
