If one's itinerary has one arriving in Taipei at 7.30pm and leaving for Frankfurt at 11.35pm, one naturally assumes that's the same day, right? *laughs at self* What should I do with 28 hours in Taipei?

I just came off an impromptu night shift at Richmond station (the cosy one that's actually a house). I hadn't done a full night before. The little wanderer is home! No idea where he was (smells like mould). Gone for 15 hours when he's usually around for 23 out of every 24. No idea, no real care right now. He's home! Way to empty a day of everything except worry!

1. A few months ago, the city demolished a cute little area of greenery on one of the street corners. It had a wooden gazebo with vines and everything. This weekend is my Induction weekend - finally! Come Saturday morning, I'll get to leave the house at 5am and bike down to the ambulance station, where I'll catch my ride to Blenheim. I took a long bike ride this evening into town for the monthly session of the Nelson Live Poets Society. Tonight featured the local community college creative writing students, so I had some hope of better performances and poets closer to my age, which did actually turn out to be the case. Today was sunny and gorgeous - the trees were radiant and decked out in full autumn formalwear - so I took the opportunity to take some pictures of our usual ride into Nelson, which I've been meaning to do for a while now.
