Poetry Competition

Happy announcement time! A couple months back I submitted three of my poetry project poems to a NZ-based international poetry competition. Last week I got the glad news that "The Platform and the Moon" had been Highly Commended as one of the top 13 poems in the competition out of 411. The award is publication and a $50 cheque. (Yep, Wade's was the one that was top 84 :) I rounded out the trio I was allowed to submit with Alysen's haiku series.

Booyah! And I don't even remember wri-oh, the one _you_ wrote. Well, that's great too.
Just kidding. I'm glad to hear about this, both the submitting and the winning. And forget being on "teh intarwebs"; it's being printed that's important, and it will be awesome to see yourself in print, in these our post-university days when that's a little (okay, a lot) rarer. Anyway, this is rewarding news after your trip. Congratulations.
