Okay. Who took my notebook, why, and I will warn you not to read it. It might make you think too hard about things.

And Apparently my mother insists that I go to the zoo ( Read more... )

I wouldn't suggest sitting in the food court -- their menu variety isn't the greatest.

As long as they have pizza, I'll be fine. And if they don't, then I'll bring my own.

[The same could be said for Daria, though her train of thought is more on the side of wondering if there's an imminent symmetry breakdown.]

Hello, Kid.

Protest? But it's supposed to be fun!

Fun. Right. Pushing through the crowd of disgruntled parents who've just emptied their pockets for the month and screaming children. Sounds like a blast to me.

That's an awful way of referring to it. Maybe you can view it as a learning experience? It's a chance to watch magical animals in a controlled environment!

Nothing says "exciting" like watching all the animals lay around and sleep.

Not all zoos are that bad at all! Some of them make excellent places for magical creatures to be safe! And I'm pretty sure the zoo we're going to is like that. I don't think the Headmaster would support a bad zoo by sending us there.

Besides, it'll be a great learning experience!

Oh, and sorry about your notebook.

Let's put it this way - what the zoo does with the animals isn't what I'm criticizing, it's that they take advantage of the excitement to charge people four times what would be acceptable for a bottle of water. Even places with good intentions can do something that's morally ambiguous. But society says that capitalism is good, so they turn a blind eye to that kind of ridiculous pricing and say "if you don't like it, bring your own food". At some point they'll do the same thing movie theaters do and forbid outside food altogether.

Tell me who has it, if you spot them with it.

I... Well, that's something to think about, I'll admit that. Huh. I never looked at it that way.

I will!

Good. Who knows, I could be wrong. But on the other hand, I could be right.

Thanks, Lewis.

I think we'll know who the culprit is when someone finds brains splattered all over the walls.
