My personal computer died good and dead on me a few weeks ago, so I've had to make do with whatever music was on my Nano before its death and what's on my work computer. Which means I've been listening to the same music for weeks now, and am really sick of it ( Read more... )

What I suggest! youremymedicine June 14 2009, 02:25:29 UTC
I'm not quite sure what your musical interests are. You said loving and such, but that's not very much to go on. Um. I say try something like Lostprophets, or Fall out boy. Maybe Shinedown and definitely some Secondhand Serenade. Boys like girls is amazing too. That's what my kick is at the moment. Muse and Kings of Leon too. They're all good! Let me know what you think, or if you like anything.

For the sake of being thorough, I'm just going to list a bunch of bands that I like. That way, hopefully at least one of my recommendations will be something you might enjoy. Here goes:

Green Day, Rise Against, My Chemical Romance, Against Me!, The Gaslight Anthem, The Who, Fall Out Boy, Taking Back Sunday, The Used, Tegan and Sara, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Queen, Paramore, Nirvana, Ludo, Jack's Mannequin, Indigo Girls, Goo Goo Dolls, Foo Fighters, Death Cab for Cutie, Coheed and Cambria, The Bouncing Souls, Alanis Morissette, and the list goes on. With more specific parameters I could probably come up with better suggestions for your personal taste, but these are just some bands that I either love or have been listening to lately. Good luck beefing up your library again. =)

That was definitely thorough -- and very helpful! There a few bands I don't know but for the most part it's a really good reminder of things I need to track down that I might not otherwise have thought of, so thank you! :)

(Also, more specific parameters lately might not help, I've been listening almost nonstop to Ani Difranco/Erin Mckeown/Tori Amos lately and kind of already needed something to kick me out of that rut anyway....so hopefully this will help. :D )

I've got a growing list of albums on my computer here. I'd recommend most of them and there are download links for some of the things there if you want them.

If you see anything you'd like, I'd be happy to upload it for you.

...You are awesome and there are quite a few albums I will be taking, yes. (That XTC tribute album might already be downloading, LOL.)

I wouldn't bother you for anything else, but just having the list is so helpful -- it's amazing what slips your mind when you're trying to rebuild from barebones!

Yes, I second this point. IN FACT HERE YOU ARE. Three Decemberists Albums, The Crane Wife, Castaways and Cutouts, and Picaresque. linked to Here and Here. (You know how to use HJ Split, right?) I would also like to recommend the songs Sons & Daughters, O! Valencia, and 16 Military Wives

Heh. A friend of mine's brother destroyed her iPod a while back, and she was in a similar predicament.

Enjoy!
