[Sephiroth makes a mental note to try and use simpler language in the future.]
Ennui refers to a feeling of hopelessness, aimlessness, and lack of motivation brought about by intense boredom. There isn't much to do here for a person with my particular set of skills.
I can kill just about anything or anyone. But there isn't really much need for that here since the monsters have been gone, and the doctor is too well-hidden to be a viable target. It's not that I am unable to do anything else, but I seem ill-suited to most any other profession.
[He's not really a former soldier, still being an active Angel of the Lord and all that.] Perhaps you need a sparring partner. [Or a kitten. Kittens are good for alleviating boredom too.]
[The look on his face is clearly skeptical - like, "You? Really? You?" - but he doesn't say it. Part of him imagines that perhaps this man might be more powerful than he looks, even though his few worthy sparring partners back home were built like himself.]
...I appreciate the offer, but before I take you up on it: What are you capable of, and what can you endure?
I haven't really been looking. I can live without it, though I could afford more comforts with one. And yet, I've never been anything other than a soldier, and it wasn't so much my profession as my entire life from birth. It suits me.
You could always take the time to pick up a hobby, develop new interests - a whole city right at the fingertips, I am sure a handsome man would find many willing to teach him a few things.
There are those who enjoy hunting where I come from, they like to bring home some great beast to prove how successful they are. If you have never tried archery, you really should, very enjoyable and a good skill to have in the future. Without knowing more about a person, it is hard to recommend a passtime I am afraid.
I don't particularly like hunting for sport - I prefer to kill things for a purpose - but archery, hm... perhaps I should try that. Something calming, physical, with a learning curve...good qualities in a hobby. Thank you.
[Not much of a branching out from his "my skills are soldier-related" problem but he's happy to at least have something new. Little steps.]
