[His gaze is saddened but, thankfully, it is hidden under his hood. He knows Sofia is safer at home but they had talked about escaping everything in their world and somehow surviving in this world, and even if it was ridiculous, the idea of setting up a new life with her anywhere sounded perfect. It was why he had proposed ( Read more... )

action;

[ Desmond doesn't even bother with a video response. He goes straight to the Assassin Den. He's seen Ezio's memories of Sofia; he knows what she means to him. For her to up and leave like that... he almost wants to find this Doctor that brings them to this place and shove a hidden blade into them. Ezio has lost more than enough in his life. He doesn't deserve to lose Sofia too. Frankly? Desmond thinks it's bullshit. But, right now it's about Ezio. Not how Desmond thinks.

He uses the hidden passage way through Loki's shop and enters the Den. While taking off his backpack, he heads straight to the desk. ]

... Hey.

[Ezio simply nods once to his descendant, settling back in his chair a little more. He is at least calm enough to work because, really, it's better she is safe in Istanbul, and with no influential Templars to harm her, the Assassins will care for her until he returns. She'll be alright, even if they're apart, though he wonders if his disappearance from his own world even affects anything or if somehow time pauses. Even so, it's not worth thinking about.

So he just focuses on writing, hood still up because it makes the perfect shield.]

[ Two main thoughts pass through his head at seeing Ezio like this. The first: 'Don't fucking shut me out, I know god damnit.' The second: 'At least Sofia is still there when we get you home.' Both are terrible things to say, so he does the wise thing and keeps his mouth shut. Instead he pulls up a chair and just sits across from his ancestor. Trying to think of what to say that shows he understands and that it's going to be fine in the end. After all, he's sitting across from Ezio - right? That counts for something.

Doesn't it? ]

[Ezio flicks his gaze up at his relative, raises a brow at the obvious desire to say something, and he sighs a little bit at him.]

You do not need to worry about consoling me, Desmond. After all, your existence is enough of a reassurance.

Grazie mille, Loki. I should be fine.

[He pauses for a second then frowns behind the hood.] She worked for you, si? Whatever loose ends need tying, I will see to it that it is done.

[He nods once.] Grazie. I will be... around for a while longer. Whenever is convenient for you.

[ Helen frowns at the message. This city seems to be far from fair. It's just another reminder that at any moment, any of them can be taken away from one another. It's a fact that Helen absolutely hates. Again, she's stuck with only the words "I'm sorry", but they feel horribly inadequate. ]

Your fiancée as well? She must be an amazing woman. [ Still, the expression she has says she understands. ] Le mie condoglianze, Ezio.

[He nods to her, purses his lips, and for a moment he wonders just what it is that causes them to return home. If the Doctor does it by choice, she is cruel and unfair. If the machine simply works in random, Lady Luck must be the cruel one.]

Grazie, Helen. [He frowns, and wonders what else to say.] She is quite the scholar, si.

[ She shakes her head with a knowing look. Helen would be the first to say that Lady Fortuna is a cruel mistress. ]

I doubt being a scholar is what makes her an amazing woman, nor what made her catch your eye. After all, scholars and educated people seem to be in quite abundance here.

[He chuckles lightly and shakes his head a little bit.]

Si, but what caught my eye was entirely superficial to begin with. A pretty face and a beautiful body. In the end, I realised I have had plenty of both and it is her mind that appealed most of all. [He shrugs faintly.] She is a challenge and she puts me in my place. E stato rinfrescante.

[Ezio actually appreciates not being fed old and reused sentiments. Sometimes, the best thing to hear is what Fenris is offering and he smiles lightly, nodding to him.]

That would be very appreciated, Fenris. [He bows his head once.]

Grazie. You will stay and drink it with me, won't you?

[After all, Ezio doesn't like to drink alone and he wants to get to know all of his recruits that bit better.]
