Original Character (OC) Application
Welcome to the application for an Original Character (OC)! Before you get started on your application, please read the following requirements before you submit you application.
APPLICATIONS ARE REVIEWED EVERY SATURDAY.
Please be patient.
We expect applications for Original Characters to be in-depth and descriptive. You must show that you have a very good understanding of your character. What we look for is a certain amount of consistency with your character-- not a character that seems to change their personality to conform to certain situations. Remember that the description of your character will affect their interactions with other characters, as well as their relationships and their development in the game. We understand that an OC is your creation, and that you have free-reign with their personality and background, but we want to avoid any "Mary Sues," or a character that seems to be perfect in every way.
If the following requirements are not met, you will be asked for a revision.
OC Application Requirements:
1. The limit of OCs per player is two (2). You may only apply for your second OC after your first has been in the game for three (3) months or more.
2. We do not accept any canon-based OCs. That is, any OC with a background centered in an already existing canon (ie. Fullmetal Alchemist, Bleach, etc.). You have an option-- your OC can arrive in the city like all canon characters, or they can believe that they have lived in the city for quite some time. They are able to have pre-existing businesses, homes, relationships with other "natives," etc, if you choose to do so.
3. Applying for an OC to solely "ship" them with another character is not only frowned upon-- it is not allowed.
4. Please use the following template when submitting you application. Note that we do require a minimum word count for certain sections, and we will be checking this. For the Personality section, we require at least 500 words. For the Background section, we require at least 700 words. Your Third Person Writing Sample must have at least 250 words. The reason we want such a high word count is because we want details. Details will help us get to know your character, and the more-in depth you go, the better!

Personality: [Describe your character's personality, any quirks they have, likes and dislikes, how they get along with others, any positive and negative personality traits, talents and flaws, etc. Please be as descriptive as possible. Also, describe any powers or abilities they might have as well, in detail. Remember, any powers/abilities will be watered-down quite a bit if they have any. This is your creation! We want to know that you have a strong understanding of them. This section must be at least 500 words.]
Background: [This is your time to shine! Please explain your character’s history as in-depth as possible. What is their world like? What was their family life like? What has happened in their life that made them who they are now? Are there any highlights in their life you want to mention? Most importantly, what were the events leading up to their migration into Aliunde? Also, let us know what their role is in the city (ie. do they own a business? do they have a family here? etc.). Try to avoid cliche backgrounds like, "my parents beat me, my childhood was depressing, etc." We understand that this is your creation, so a background like that will be accepted with good reason, relative to the rest of your background description. This section must be at least 700 words.]
Appearance: [Of course, we understand the use of a PB, but without the use of a PB, please describe your character's appearance. We'd like to know how you see your character in your mind!]
Why do you want to app your character into Aliunde? [Here is where you can tell us why you would like to bring this character into the game. Is there an idea you have with this character to advance the plot? Do they bring a certain character dynamic into the game? Applying for an OC just to "ship" them with another character is a big no-no.]
