I loved this episode. I mean... really, really loved this episode! It may possibly be my favourite episode so far this season. Yeah, I really loved Doppelganger too and I'd be hard put to choose between them but I love them for different reasons... and Travelers is just so much Sheppy awesomeness..... I think I've watched it about 6-7 times already

I agree totally - awesome episode!

I must admit to watching this over and over a few times myself!!

The only problem with having a episode all about Sheppard is that we'll inevitably end up with a couple of episodes where he's hardly in it - but it's a price worth paying for 'Travelers'!!

Well, must go and watch it again!

Back from my coupla days away in Blackpool and had to watch Travelers again last night! :D I still can't get over how fabulous this episode is and how much I want to rewatch it and rewatch it. The scene where he is being beaten.. the roughness to his voice as he slurs, "No, your knuckles'll get sore eventually.." *dies* My heart lurches at that scene and I just wanna hug Sheppard to bits! :lol:

I hope we won't get any Sheppard-lite episodes just because of one Sheppard-heavy one.. after all, Season 2 didn't really have any Rodney-lite episodes, despite GUP! :D

P.S. This is my new favourite icon and I am using it to death!! :D

Great job Ali!!! I will be boring and say I agree with everything you wrote and join you in your chorus of lalalalalalala.

I think the character of Sheppard would develop so much with a recurring "interest" that is not falling all over herself because of his charm and looks. He needs someone to put him in his place upon occasion. I loved his reactions to her snark. I don't want her to be on every other show, but a couple of appearances a season would be nice.

I liked Larrin and the UST and found the kiss - and the subsequent stunning - hawt! And yes, I am incredibly jealous of Larrin, thanks for asking... ;) :lol:

The whump was delicious... oooh if you think of all the fanfic out there of Sheppard being captured and beaten for information etc and here we have it as CANON! *flails*

I kept wondering what if Larrin HAD kept Sheppard for a few days all intending to use him to put the ship back together but between the beatings and being forced to use so much tech (not knowing what prolonged exposure could do)took a toll and she returned him a few days later out of some weird form of concenr/respect?

YOu know just in case you needed more food for thought :-P

Oh there is SO much fic I need to write about this episode! Both canon and AU stories...

I want stories of him getting back to Atlantis and getting checked over in the infirmary and Keller finding bruises etc on his torso. I want stories of him waking up the next day and being all stiff from the bruising. I like the AU idea you suggested and I have about a billion more! :D

All I need is the time and willpower to actually get some writing done! :lol: And I also need to finish my DG fic (just struggling with some technicalities of the plot atm).

I know what you mean I have both DG and TR post eppy bunnies in my head but I'm only half way done with my next fic and I need to finish it first!

Then perhaps some post eppy fun before the HC secret Santa kicks off :-P

This was the best ep ever. All Shep all the time. I wouldn't want it every ep, becaues I love the TEAM too. But this was long overdue, as you say. It's a gift from TPTB's that was owed us a looong time ago. And I thank them.

Precisely. I wouldn't want it this way every week but just once, after more than 3 years, it was SO nice to get an episode that focused almost entirely on the show's leading man! :D

I still get all excited just thinking about this episode.. just thinking about watching it again. I haven't felt like this about an episode in aaaaages! :D

You know, I feel kinda guilty for not being more squeeful about the episode than I was -- I felt the same about Real World, an episode which didn't do much for me personally, but I really was very happy that Elizabeth fans had gotten an episode where she could shine, and I really am happy that you liked this one, and that the Sheppard fans and Sheppard whumpers got an episode that was all about them. And there were some really lovely parts -- I love seeing Sheppard in his "smart and resourceful" mode, and his bored-little-kid look when he flopped down on the bed in the cell was adorable. As we saw before in Common Ground, he's not a guy who generally needs to be rescued, which is pretty cool; he's smart and competent and quite good at rescuing himself. I liked seeing that side of him get a chance to shine. And as we've seen a few times before, but never quite to this extent, he *does* know a lot more about technology than he usually lets on, and it was really nifty to see that he's perfectly capable of fixing broken Ancient tech on

Hey, no worries hon. Life'd be pretty boring if we were all the same and all thought the same. It's a shame you didn't enjoy the ep as much as I did but I can see where your dissatisfactions arise from - hopefully you can still enjoy the bits you feel were good without the bits that bug you overshadowing it too much
