In the living room, I have a 4k capable television hooked to a 5.1 A/V receiver. What was I watching on it this evening? Old episodes of "Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In", originally shot on late 1960's era videotape, mono sound, on DVD.

This evening, since nothing major was on television, mom and I were watching episodes of "I Dream of Jeannie" on the DVDs I've owned of the series since they were first released in 2007. Since I'm fairly certain, because of no income due to my medical issues, that I won't be able to afford renewal of my CBS All Access and Britbox streaming subscriptions when they expire in October/November, I'll still have plenty to keep me "occupied". I read a few weeks ago that the first season of "Doctor Who" that starred Tom Baker was being released on Blu-ray, "upscaled and remastered" from the original standard definition videotape sources. Just watched the season one episode of "The Six Million Dollar Man" titled "Operation Firefly" on the DVD set. A few inconsistencies. The taxi seen flying over the cliff and exploding isn't even the same style car they were riding in (stock footage most likely). Don't you hate when you decide you want to transfer an old VHS tape to DVD, then you can't freggin' FIND the original tape? Having to use a COPY of the original tape I made years ago instead.
