Even after reformatting the PC, starting from scratch, the computer is still BSOD'ing when I attempt to use a webcam with MSN Messenger or Skype. I've tried using the webcam company drivers, uninstalling them and using the Windows native drivers, running the cam through WebcamMax/Manycam, running the cam alone without those programs, all with the ( Read more... )

I thought I backed up everything I wanted to a while back when I reformatted the computer. Turns out, I didn't back up ANY of the archived webcam images and my "Pictures" folder! Guess all that stuff, except for what I have stored online, is lost for the ages ( Read more... )

Went to Best Buy yesterday afternoon and picked up Andrew's laptop. Can't remember offhand if I had mentioned he had cracked the screen a couple of weeks ago, and the screen no longer functioned properly... in case I didn't, mentioning it again. Anywho, it's working fine again, and I'm glad I invested in that $99 one-year "damage warranty" on it ( Read more... )

A couple of days ago, Andrew somehow bumped the screen of his laptop on something, rendering the display unusable. Luckily, when I bought the laptop, I bought a warranty that covers accidents. I was trying to videochat with a friend on MSN Messenger, yet each time I tried to accept the call, the 'puter blue screened and rebooted. Finally just opted to put on the headset and audiochat instead.

The 'puter is havin' "issues"... completely froze while watching "Buzz Out Loud" on CNET. Had to hard reboot! Second time in three days!
