technology

I'm all for technology, but I knew there was a reason I was reluctant to use the GPS in my car. What if, at night, it leads me off a cliff.

It almost happened.

This is terrible. I always use mine when I'm in unfamiliar territory. Seesh, use it with caution.

Just don't use it where there are mountains, lakes, bridges, and canyons.

The way our garmin GPS can not know regular roads exist (it almost drove Jedi into a field once) and occasionally leads you astray, I'd never trust them alone in the wilds of dirt roads.

Also, one can have a GPS in the car and still make all the wrong turns. Jedi's father does this all the time, goes right when it tells him to stay left, take exits he's not supposed to, not take exits he needs to. GPS is good at fixing his errors then, but the original wrong turn was still his.

So, have a map just in case, good sense, a compass when off road and not be an idiot, then a GPS is a great device.

I use maps anyway when I need them. It's useful for people who travel to a lot of unfamiliar places, cities mostly, but I usually know my way around.

Maybe it was the driver's fault, but what happened to those people is scary.
