You're moving in with Mirko???? How cool is that!!! Congrats!
And indeed, the best things in life are in small things.

Well, I want to move out soon, or else I won't find anyone to take over my room when I leave for the US sometime in December. Besides, I think it's a great idea, living together before we leave Leipzig for good... and move on to the dreaded long-distance relationship phase.

Me: First in the US for a few months, then back to Germany for a bit to see Mirko, then travel to India for another few months or so, then return to Europe.

Mirko: doesn't know yet.

hehe thanks! But the nice weather pales in comparison to that trip you took a while ago with those wonderful pictures!

You know, every now and then I keep reading news articles about chaotic events in the Philippines, so I think to myself "I hope Joelle's far away from all that!" You are, right? Or are all ballet dancers plotting a government takeover?

you mean the coup attempts? the first ones were alarming, and then they and the rallies just suddenly became a normal event and we'd just pass right by them and sigh about how it would be so difficult to get home later because of all the traffic, etc.

if you mean the kidnappings and the rebels, i don't see any of that in person. the rebels are all in the mountains, usually in the southern islands, and the kidnappings, well i'm not rich enough i guess. do i sound jaded? there are lots of nice things happening here too, but they never make the front page. alas!

You know, back in Panama, my cousin's stepfather got kidnapped. I don't know if he was rich, but I think he was involved in some political idunnowhat.

Yeah, usually the news is filled with horror stories like that. Unless it's alarming or sensational, they're never going to report on nice things. (So what kind of nice things are going on, anyway?)

By the way, this group of dancing prisoners seems to have gained popularity over here...
