Canon Query

You know how in fics (i.e. smut), people just say "scourgify!" and point at things and they vanish?

Is there any incidence of that actually happening in canon? All I can think of is:

1. When Harry knocks the bowl of Murtlap Essence onto the floor in OotP he uses reparo on the bowl, but nothing on the stain in the carpet.

2.  Does James use scourgify ( Read more... )

Wow, you're speedy. You commented before I could change the spelling mistakes. And change 'lol' to 'lollerskates' because it is more in keeping with my mood.

Mmm, Campinos. Are they (your icon) called Campinos in the US of A?

And, yes, I mean 'might-have-beens' in the emo sense.

Yes, it's 'might-have-beens'. Ooh, fic title? 'Tis a clue, precious.

Hmm, I think James does use Scourgify on Snape. I'm certain that soapy bubbles appear, whatever spell it was. I don't know if you can just Vanish stains away, because I reckon you'd simply Vanish the object that the stain is on.

Nice shoes!

HAHA SPAM. Always amusing.

Ginny also uses "Scourgify" in Chpt. 10 of OotP, when Harry, Neville, Luna and her are covered in the stink sap of Neville's plant. The HP-Lexicon mentions it in the chapter-by-chapter, but not in the Encyclopedia of Spells.

Thanks! I forgot about that one. It makes a bit more sense, now.

Clearly, this is further evidence that Stever Vander Ark is a Ginny-hater. ;)

Yes. I've been wondering about the fact that lots of important characters have their pages updated while Harry's future wife's page hasn't. And neither is she included in his family page.

*g* Seriously, hilarious though the Harmonian-conspircaies are, I think that the non-updated-ness of the Lexicon must be partly because he's had ... other things on his mind, maybe? But yes, the way Ginny's 'general profile' ends will never fail to amuse me.
