Canon Query

You know how in fics (i.e. smut), people just say "scourgify!" and point at things and they vanish?

Is there any incidence of that actually happening in canon? All I can think of is:

1. When Harry knocks the bowl of Murtlap Essence onto the floor in OotP he uses reparo on the bowl, but nothing on the stain in the carpet.

2.  Does James use scourgify on Snape, in the penseive scene in OotP? And, as far as my memory serves me, a soap appears? Or maybe just soapy bubbles?

Is this just my imagination? Or is it true that you can't "scourgify" unpleasant stains away? - not without soap-stuff appearing, anyway. Because it's so much a part of fanon law that I think I'm missing something. i.e., that it's not fanon, it's canon. But maybe you could Vanish them?

Also, everyone, of vital importance: is the phrase 'might-have-beens' a real phrase? As in "all the might-have-beens, could-have-beens, should-have-beens, would-have-beens"? Does it have hyphens, or is it better as 'might have beens'? Am I just making this up? Might-Have-Beens - would it make sense as a fic title?

... I think I'll post the scourgify thing at
canon_evidence. eta: Posted here.

eta: I just got an email with the subject "get a man-sized member Shelia". Who is Shelia? Am I Shelia? Is my penis called Shelia?
