It may be unwise of us to use what stocks we have rashly, or to any excess, but Myhrta and Thereth both made prudent suggestions. Now that the housing is notably more secure, thanks to the efforts of the community, we may serve newcomers better by ensuring they are provided with basic supplies and a more composed welcome. Some arriving here quickly ( Read more... )

I think it is an excellent idea, and would benefit us all. The committee should consist of at the very least four members, and there should be back up's as well.

A direct link between the committee and the watch will assure that new residents can be collected by watch members from the temple on arrival.

I will volunteer, however, I believe that while I able to remain calm and eloquent, my presence unnerves people. I may not be the best choice considering that.

Ah, Thanatos. I hoped I'd hear from you regarding the subject.

While a link to the watch may be helpful, it needn't be members of the Watch that go to aid them. After all, with the Watch divided between shifts as it is, we'd only be adding to that workload. The committee should be seperate.

[There is something a little unsettling about Thanatos, but...]

By working with them you would have a direct way to assess and estimate our newcomers and therefore our numbers. It can't be the work of just one, after all.

I have spoken to Myhtra, she has me convinced that I will be able to be a part of the welcome committee despite my lack of... Appeal, to most.

The young man who bears a likeness to you, Tamaki, seems like a friendly and inviting sort of boy. He will be of use to the committee as well, I am sure.

I will certainly think a great deal more about this.

The second son of the Britannian Emperor.

[Which answers that question pretty well, y/y?]

I believe we've spoken, but I'm glad to do so again. It's understandable that you may be somewhat disorientated.

[With a light hint of concern in his voice for good measure.]

I hope things are becoming easier, however. If there was a way in which I could help that - if you had questions or concerns, I hope you wouldn't hesitate to bring them to me.

[That's an interesting question, Seth.]

Protection of the residents is undertaken by the Watch, sir. Was there something causing you concern?

[Hiding something, perhaps?]

Um... I'm not on the watch, so I'd be happy to volunteer for the welcome committee Sir, if that's any help to you.

Thank you. Myhrta and I are taking note of those who volunteer in order to build a group.

Prince Schneizel. [ Zelda nods respectfully in greeting. ] While organizing a proper welcome is a wonderful idea, our store of iron is very low. We must address this soon, before it becomes a source of concern within the community.

[He returns the nod, smiling briefly before speaking.]

My understanding from the network was that Miss Dawnstrike was making another trip to mine for more, which should alleviate the concern somewhat. Iron is a resource that we cannot realistically expect to ever have in abundance, of course - but nor does it need to be. Stock may be scarce, but to my knowledge we have ample iron links for the time being, and many of our buildings have been fortified with it. Through care and prudence, the little we have may last us some time.

Is she? I had not heard. [ There's a small sigh of relief. ] Keeping an ample stock of fuel should be of high priority for the next two to three months, as well as food. I worry that we have not yet seen the worst that winter has to offer.

I do not beleieve she set a date, but she was recruiting people to accompany her. Regarding our other stores, we seem to be safe - but I agree that we cannot make assumptions, particularly when our population is so volatile.

[His voice warms, as if with pleasant surprise.

In a way, it always is.]

Euphie. It doesn't surprise me that you turn your thoughts to helping our community so quickly. In fact, I think this would be wonderfully fitting for you, as you grow more familiar with the place.

[His smile becomes a mite sharper. There's a challenge in the game, after all.]

As it stands, we decided to have another game. For old time's sake.

I have no doubt of that, little one. You only ever exceed my expectations.

[Which isn't necessarily true, but that scarcely matters - his expectations are simply seldom ever wrong.]

We're both of the mind it's been much too long. [There's a chuckle in his voice, the words ambiguous. It hasn't been as long as Euphie thinks, but does a match against Zero really count?] I'm quite relishing the opportunity.
