I would never dream of ranting!

Have you ever typed out a long post and then deleted it all because you knew that it would be more trouble than it was worth to post it?

Yeah.

And then you type it again, and then delete it again and finally you realize you have to type something or your heartburn will get worse.

So... here's the really, really short version of just a few things ( Read more... )

finances, pet peeves, writing, family, ficcing, kupo, idiots, rant, procrastination

They DO look awesome! It's like... everyone should have one just for the off chance that they might have a kid visiting >_>

And I do believe my mother wants to steal Kupo. Freaky. O.o

I'm so happy to hear about all the baby stuff going well. OMG I laughed so hard when you talked about your mom stocking up on baby stuff with the intention on taking your baby over. XD!

I'm also very happy to hear your opinions and peple's writing in fanfiction. I couldn't have said it better myself. This entire entry of yours has definitely cheered me up, put a smile on my face and I needed that badly because I'm having a shitty week.

THANK YOU SOO MUCH FOR WRITING THIS AND BEING WHO YOU ARE! :)

Heeh. Glad you enjoy my belly-aching ;)

Also glad that people don't think I'm paranoid about these things! And by these things I mean the ficcing stuff, not my mother -- I KNOW she plans to steal my baby! ;)

OKAY, DOUBLE-DIPPY-DITTO on the SMUT STUFF!

I live in PG-13 land, and surprisingly I'm accepted. But I do feel all kinds of intimidated ALL THE TIME because there's so much smut out there. I feel like people won't even give my stuff a chance because there's no smut, I've never written smut, so there's a really, really good chance that any story by me will contain NO SMUT. And therefore, I lost 80% of the readership!

When I get into little funks, this is usually the cause. GRRR...

You are not the only one. We're just a very rare breed, I guess!

Let me get this straight 'cause I'm a little confused. She won it and is keeping it for when the baby comes over to where she lives? Right?

And concerning the PG rant, it was like it was meant for me or something, not that it is. *platonic smooch* All things considered, I think I'm doing quite well as a smutless writer, and I don't get all that many reviewers complaining either, though that note on my ff.net profile might have something to do with it. ;)

Hmm... I wonder what "startpakke" could mean. lol

Completely off-topic, you know that black bar to the side of your journal, on the right? My cursor disappears when it goes over it. How bizarre.

Yup, naturally. She's so totally nesting. >_>

Heeeh... I know that you and floo do fairly well as smutless writers, but I bet that there'd be tons more people reading you if you did smut. Honestly, I'll take some nice UST over full-blown porn any day, but that's just me... *sighs*

Huh, doesn't happen to me. Weird. Your computer is weird.

I'll pretend like I know what UST stands for. What is it with me and acronyms?

We do cater to a lot of younger readers out there, though. I remember with my first fic, I asked in the author's note if I should up the rating from PG to PG-13, and a reader or so asked me not to because they weren't allowed to read PG-13! (They must have been really young, I'm guessing.)

*playing with cursor* Bracelet... black, black, black... gray. Huh, it's there where the words are, just not in the black. Weirdness. What is wrong with you, Mr. Computer?

UST = Universal Standard Time or Unresolved Sexual Tension... whichever fits the best ;)

Wow, not allowed to read PG13. That's new. I've had children openly read my smut. It made me... gahhh...

Hih, baby starter kit =) Good idea, though, to put all the necessities in one packet.

If I ever procreate, I definitely want Trip Trap -chair for the child, they look so handy. Stokke has so lovely baby furniture (especially the oval bed) but man, they are expensive.

I've also noticed how the absence of smut seems to be a turn off for some people. Quite absurd, IMO, I like smut well enough but it's hardly a priority. Especially longer stories definitely need more substance. I can imagine this being rather frustrating for the writer; trying to write something a bit more ambitious, something with an actual point, and the readers just go "yes, yes, very nice, but _where_ is the smut?!" =)

You have no idea how frustrating that can be... Not that I've had anyone do that recently, but there were a few at the beginning of Bracelet. *sighs* Fortunately, they seem to have realized that smut isn't a priority by now. ;)

We're getting one of those chairs, though. It's just robbery to demand that kind of money for them. X_X It will most definitely have to wait until January if we don't get one for Christmas.
