Old friends
My former boss called me last night. Not one of the ones that laid me off in June but the one that got laid off with me 2.5 years ago. He sounds good. It took him a while to get another position, but he's been at a university job now for a year. It's a lot more laid back than he was used to in corporate America and it sounds good on him. How I'm doing
I've been determined not to lose my focus on things given all the things that have come up. Despite the death of another family member, the loss of my job and unemployment looming out in front of me, I've continued getting up in the morning and doing my jogging program3 days a week. Turning 42
My 42nd birthday will be on June 23, 2013 so why the heck am I talking about it now? Mostly because I’m tired of talking about my 40th birthday which is tomorrow. There’s just something about turning 40. Sure they say life begins at 40 and it’s the new 30, 20, whatever, but I’m here to tell you, it’s still 40. Today begins the last year of my third decade of life......I'm not sure about reaching the end of my third decade. I hope that this next year looks very different than the last two and I'll do what i can to make it so.
