We have a piano. And a better stool. Rosie is very impressed. There was a fight between Rich and Rosie over who'd get to play. Rosie got persuaded to play the 'drums' (saucepan stylee) as an alternative.

I've managed to find a removal company that'll move the piano for £75 which seems rather a bargain and means we don't have to mess about lifting it. I'm currently being a 'bad' mum and letting Rosie watch TV whilst I make loads of phone calls!

Today Rich and I have managed to get ourselves a free piano (from the FIL of an acquaintance) and piano stool (that just happened to be offered on freegle at 6.30pm today). Does anyone happen to have a little trolley that could be used to move the piano? I wouldn't normally bother to ask but it seems to be our lucky day!

I've not been up to loads recently. Toilet training continues with less effort than I was expecting. Rosie's been completely dry today.  She seems to have 'got' the idea mostly. I'm enjoying my change in hours though, it's much easier to cope with a long day wednesday when you have mondays and tuesday off. Work's going quite well at the moment as ( Read more... )

Gordon Brown is threatening to scrap childcare vouchers and give some two year olds (unlikely Rosie!) 10 hours of paid nursery a week. If this had been the case when I first went back to work I'd have seriously reconsidered it. Unless they'd like to give us two years off on maternity leave! There's a petition against it if anyone's interested.

Yay, they've finally confirmed my change in hours with effect from next monday! It means that I'll have some Rosie free hours as the nursery needs a fortnight notice, what a pity!

Can anyone localish to us (Bolton) recommend someone who could put up a fence for us? We want to get ours replaced as it's an odd fence that is has big gaps and Rosie is looking with great interest at our next door neighbour's garden!

When he first moved in he complained about the cat coming to visit, we're waiting for Rosie to inspect him too!

Milton has just brought a BAT into the house and left it as a present! Being an ungrateful owner I've deposited it outside and am hoping this endangered species will be more careful in the future.

Just how on earth has our white cat caught a BAT!???

Thanks Marcus and Sue, my  library adventure talky with the 8-10 year olds went really well. In fact, they've 'demanded' a Hallowe'en adventure. They particularly liked the froggy game and got the riddles whereas adults I'd tested them on struggled.

So I may be training the next generation of larpers!
