TWO MORE DAYS!

Dec 16, 2009 19:21

Only two more days until I get two weeks away from my life-eating job. Whee! I may actually be able to write again!

Is there anyone else out there who's so tired of the "OMG David is leaving!!!1!!11eleventy" hype that you just don't care any more? Granted, I've been busy, but I don't honestly have much interest in watching Waters of Mars, let ( Read more... )

I go in and out of that feeling. On the one hand, I'm sick of it, on the other hand, I'll watch an old episode and flip out (not helping? Watching The Christmas Invasion with a bunch of friends and hearing my roommate say "He looks like such a baby!" That triggered an immediate "OH MY GOD WHY IS HE LEAVING?!?!")

This doesn't really make me happy, honestly. I loved being in fandom, I loved the excitement.

Slowly drifting away from a fandom is always so sad, in a really weird way. I'm not sure if I'm going to watch the new season; I'll definitely watch the first couple of episodes, but I'll see where it goes from there . That said, it might be hard for me to avoid it since I might be doing a study abroad program in London over the summer.

Congrats on the student teacher coming into her own! That must be soooo good for you, just to get a little break and know that your students will be in good hands.

I plan to watch the new series; I'm interested to see what Moffat does with it, and I'm really interested to see how Matt Smith interprets the character. I think I'm just tired of the continual "OMG my life is ending!!!" crap I hear from a few folks.

Study abroad in London! How cool is that! I'm excited for you. Congratulations! (A little jealous, too. I want to study in London!)

Re: student teacher--yeah, it's really neat watching her come into her own. She's a neat lady--we've become pretty good friends--and she's learning some of the important lessons that student teaching is meant to teach. She'll struggle--especially the first couple weeks, she'll struggle HARD--but she'll get there. :)

Thanks. :) I think I just need a break to get my life in order--which, hopefully, this two weeks will give me. I may even watch Water of Mars this week. :)

It's here! Well, at my mom's house, where my mail goes. (My mailbox here at my apt complex doesn't lock as well as I'd like.) I haven't had a chancec to pick it up, though I'm going to today. She said it's a package! I'm intrigued! ♥

I feel so "happy" to see that another fan feels the same way - I feel like he's already left, and this is an extended, painful goodbye without the fun of the previous seasons. The 9-to-10 break was sudden and hard, but over with quickly and really well written. Knowing for over a year that he's leaving just sucked all of the enjoyment out of it for me.

I'm actually really interested in the next season, but there's this weight of the old stuff in the way.

YES. Yes, yes, yes! I agree with everything you've said. So glad you feel the same way. *hugs*
