Borrowing trouble

I swear, I am the world's worst worrywart.

I've been sitting here, playing around online (admittedly, while I should be cleaning), investigating where I might buy furniture when I move to England, and then I thought:

Hee. It's funny how you kind of skip over the most obvious option and go straight to panicking.

As for pots and pans and stuff: is there Ikea in the UK? Because that stuff is dirt cheap at Ikeas here, so it would probably be just plain cheap in the English equivalent.

Yeah, they have Ikea, and that's probably where I'd go--but I had to have my requisite panic attack first. Never fails. *G*

You should know that if you buy a bed out of Ikea you will then be tied to Ikea for everything bed related - their mattresses and/or duvets are Not Standard Size. ie You can't get sheets and duvet covers anywhere but Ikea. (NB: I haven't actually experienced this myself, but it came from a reliable source.)

This would be why my program wanted us to come to Japan with a good $5000 on us. (I came with $3000; they loaned me the rest.) I got a completely unfurnished apartment and used futon. That's it. So far, I've likely invested at least $1500 in the thing. Thank God I've got a paycheck coming soon! Changing countries--never easy.
