Friday we drove over to Lawton, OK to a lab that would draw his blood and run the test. This was a chance to try out having lab work done while we travel. Since I know from experience that restaurant food is filled with salt and other wonderful nasties, I would suggest staying away from any restaurants (especially Popeye's) until you can get this under control. I'm glad you're getting to accomplish some of the things you set out for yourself to do.

I second this. There is also hidden salt in all sorts of things like condiments (ketchup). Fast food is really the worst nutrition. Give my best to Wayfinder, and my hopes for a speedy recovery from whatever is besetting him. (Sometimes I think the more medications you're on, the more they interact and the more problems they cause until the doctors aren't treating the original problem anymore, but the complications.)

I'm not even sure how much sodium is allowed on a low salt diet.
Not only do the medications interact they affect the elderly more.

We did manage to get a low salt meal at the local Chinese place here in Duncan by requesting it. Hubby's meal tasted better than mine. I think from now on I will request low/no salt meals.
Today I wanted to fix him a quick meal after we got back from the hospital as he had not eaten all day. I looked at the sodium content on our cans of soup. ACK No more canned soup even though he loves the Split Pea with Ham.

I told wayfinder38 that he can't have anymore bratwurst or sausage as the salt content is too high. He does love his sausage being part German.
